“I moti dell’anima” was a
grand experience.
Poets and their friends filled
the city hall and SRO left for the late comers. The
microphones were adjusted,
papers shuffled, the VIPs arrived and the readings began.
It was rough and slow to
start, then picking up emotions and rhythm as the various poems
were read by their authors,
young and old, male and female who had come from all along the
Amalfi coast.
The audience voted for their
two most favourites. The winner was no surprise. Mr. Fulvio
Palmieri from Sorrento had
read his wonderful Napolitano verses with vigour and humour.
The last words of his poem
were said in unison my many in the crowd. A fine tribute to any poet.
Appreciation should be given
to the organizers and those who helped make such a fine night possible. It was
a wonderful evening and welcomed opportunity for poets to be heard and recog-
nized. May the next time come
soon, with more poets, lovelier verses and greater participation.
by the lovers of the art of
love, poetry.
Cordiali saluti Gianni Terminiello
